Resolution a bit lower than one would expect after the FX review, but we have seen similar behaviour with the Nikon AF-S 35/1.4.

In summary, the Sigma still outperforms the Nikkor on DX, too.

When the resolution drops off like this is it safe to assume the lens will not scale to denser sensors or is it perhaps related to angle of light against the sensor ?

The angle of light does not change between the FF and APS-C sensor, in the corresponding area. The distance to the sensors remains the same.
