Also, the latest gen of smartphone sensors (64mp) is at the theoretical physical limit - and that's when ignoring every aspect of the lens. Not that anyone cares, it seems.


It won't stop marketing from claiming "cameras are dead get a smartphone". People who exaggerate tend not to care a lot about reality. I am not sure where smartphones will plateau as devices but cameras have a long way to reach the bottom of the barrel.
