Fuji X-Pro 1 - product images
#5
Actually, I think I failed to remember how this camera is meant to be operated. A mixture of direct controls. Given you control aperture directly on the lens, you don't need a wheel for that effect. Same goes with the shutter speed (although not easily reached on top and preferably replaced by thumb control?). I'm not sure how it's going to work but I jumped hastily here. Sorry.

The old thinking was :"I thought there was a consensus that upper models tend to have several control dials. Panasonic has completely failed to notice. Canon used to differentiate its XXD with their very efficient thumb wheel, jog and index dial. Nikon on its Dxxx. Olympus on it's E-Px. Heck, Sony even put 37 wheels on its NEX7 !

And eventhough I thought it was silly to restrict lower cameras from it, I could see why it was so. It is really helpful and a differentiator. I've chosen my cameras around that. It's either giving you instant full control in manual mode, or instant EV compensation in other modes."

Clearly, the way the camera controles are laid out, it might be a complete non issue. Oops.

Apart from that, exciting camera but going the same way I feared we'd go : APS-C won't give you small camera nor small lenses. Might preorder one though ;D.

What more do you want? Is this basically an X100 you can change the lenses on? Aperture on lens, shutter on top, exposure compensation should you want (semi)auto. What is left? ISO?

The flash unit is cute.
