I thought it would be better if we go on with the discussion under the same thread. Obviously, I waited for the new generation MacBook Pros. They're now here with promising upgrades... Keynotes for me:
- 8GB RAM max limit is over. 16GB is available in new generation + high performance graphic cards (I guess good news for handling of 50mb nef files)
- all are equipped with flash storage instead of HDDs
- USB 3 in addition to thunderbolt
[size="2"]Considering that one will process D800[/size][size="2"] nef files (preferably with Capture NX2), would the 16GB RAM option be an important criteria? And by post processing I mean:
- the regular raw image adjustments by using like exposure correction, shadow/highlight recovery, curve applications, USM etc...
- on occasion, challenging tasks like focus stacking and image stiching are to be run in CS4...
- again on occasion, HDR processing by using Photomatix
Any comments?...
