Saying "The Sigma AF 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM OS is a highly competitive APS-C standard zoom lens and Sigma's best product in this class so far." tells me, it's about time to find out what the new 17-70 C-type is able to perform 
Had this lens as my first on a D7000 and was pleased by it's performance and not so pleased by the rotating focus ring with the small focusing angle. In less than 60 degrees from closest range to infinity is not helpful for manual focusing.
