I purchased D7100 recently and this is my first impression

 

The Good

 

1.It is very sharp if you use a good lense.

 

2.The hand grip is much better than D7000. It fits very well in my hand.

 

3.Really satisfied with 51 AF point

 

 

The Bad

 

1.Live view sucks.

Even if you change your aperture or shutter speed it doesn't reflects the change at all.

Is this a bug? or other Nikon DSLR are the same?

How can you say live view if it doesn't shows what you gonna get?

On the other hand, in Movie mode if you change shutter speed and ISO it reflects it.

 

2.Because of its high Megapixel old lenses couldn't keep up with D7100

35mm F1.8G was disappointing.

Corners were quite soft even at F4.

I think Nikon needs to renew their 35mm f1.8G

 

50mm F1.8G was OK

85mm F1.8G was Very Good
