Very interesting review. After the DX wide angle lenses from Tokina, I kinda expected a little more, but the Nikon 16-35 isn't a stellar performer either...
Markus, I have a question for you. I was looking through the sample pictures to get a feeling of the performence at the wide end around f8, because this is where I' use this lens 90% of the time.
If I compare the second sample in the left column (cut down field with a forrest to the right) to the seventh in the right column (combine harvester), it appears that in the first picture the left side of the image is unexpectedly weak while it seems to be fine in the second picture.
Also, in the sixth picture of the right column, I think the left border is very weak.
All pictures were taken at 17mm f/8.
Do you have an explenation for this, or am I seeing ghosts?
