What about it being only an 1:2 lens, while the other two are 1:1 macro lenses? That can be considered a downside too.

Good catch, I completely forgot about it. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> There is a dust-/splash-proof EX-25 extension tube that makes it 1:1 and also works with other Four Thirds lenses, $60-80 used, but it's a fiddly workaround.. though still a valid option for those who rarely need to go closer than 1:2.

Anyway, all the reports I'd seen suggested that 50/2 performs noticeably better than the newer 60/2.8 (lenstip reviews, Robin Wong direct comparison, etc), for me that was the main reason to buy the older lens. But I shoot flat artwork with it (like paintings), don't really need 1:1 but need maximum resolution in both the center and the corners and no aberrations/vignetting/distortion. And for occasional flower/bug shots 1:2 is usually more than enough. But for those who often need 1:1, fast AF and can live with a bit softer corners, 60/2.8 is probably the better option.
