Thanks

One day I'll make the jump to FX, my existing 60mm AF-D will be a good standard lens, but a bit short for many macro applications.

I had the 105mm micro before I upgraded to D700. And after the upgrade, I realized that longer FL (e.g. Sigma 150mm) would be a better choice. Don't get me wrong, Nikon 105mm is a very very good performer on FX for macro usage but I believe the 150mm FL (both for dedicated macro usage and for other purposes) does a better job. Some tend to use the 105mm micro for portraits (on FX) but I personally believe that all of the 85mm AF lenses in the Nikon line up or the 105mm / 135mm DC lenses do quite a better job in that area (in terms of max aperture and bokeh quality)... And with that regard, I' d like to use the opportunity to send a message to Nikon: what are you waiting for filling the gap for a 150mm macro... And when can we see an alternative to the 135mm DC lens (might be a non-DC lens of course...)... <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

So if you're looking for a dedicated macro lens for FX, I would suggest to check the review of the new Sigma 150mm OS (on 5D2). It is a (real) APO lens and that makes quite a difference on the raw image.
