Hmm, what was it then? Lens calibration?
From what I've seen from this lens - and since it's more readily available now, there're more samples now than even 3 weeks ago - there's some amount of residual spherical aberration, but it's been "designed into lens", so the focal plane does change, but within a limit od DoF of the lens, at least with CoC for D3/D700 (most samples I've seen are form 12 MP bodies, which is not ideal - it would be more of a problem with 36MP sensor). Are you saying there's no focus shift at all, or that the focal plane stays within DoF for 28mm lens on 24 MPix sensor, and thus is not an issue?
