Turns out that the first part of it was this 24/1.4 GM...
https://www.dpreview.com/news/7468800145...ster-prime ... which was unusually compact and affordable for a Sony GM lens! And it was announced right on my birthday, to boot. Too bad I don't (really) shoot Sony E mount.
