Hi Guys,

Hello...

Im currently using Canon 5DMK 3. Im not familiar with Fujifilm systems. However, Im thinking of getting a mirrorless camera for my usual overseas trip so as to lighten up my weight. Normally, I would take Street and landscape photography.

Im considering the Fujifilm XT10 and X100T. However, cannot decide on which body I should get.

Would appreciate if you guys can assist me.

Thank you.

Stating the obvious, maybe, and not knowing which lenses you already have. But maybe a Canon EOS 100D/SL1 with EF-S 24mm f2.8 STM pancake and EF-S 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 IS STM will complement your current set up well. The weight of each of those items is very light in comparison, very easy on the wallet too, and the 100D is capable of very nice results.

The X100T would be easier to rule in or out, as it has a fixed lens that will be adequate or not. By itself it is roughly equivalent to 35mm f/3. There are a couple of lens modifier accessories, which widen it to 28mm equivalent, or lengthen it to 50mm equiv., both I believe without further changing the aperture. Also having the original X100 myself, do note the optical viewfinder part of it works differently than on a DSLR, and I like it a lot less than I thought I would once I got it. I find it usable for framing only and personally I find it unnerving not to be able to see focus change in the presented image like you would on DSLR. So if you use AF and it is off for any reason, you'll be unaware of it until you review the taken images. You can of course work around this by using the EVF mode, but then you negated a major point of this model series.

If that is not adequate, then it is as Brightcolours says, what lenses and apertures do you normally work in? From there you can figure out how best Fuji or other system meets that.

Hi Brightcolours & popo,

Appreciate your advises, thank you.

I'm work most with my 24-70mm f2.8 as well as 70-200mm f2.8. I do have other 17-40 f4, 50mm and 85mm f1.2.

However, I'm trying to reduce my weight due to the fact that I travel frequently for work cum leisure.

I'm not familiar with the Fuji lenses so will leave that for others to recommend. I will add one comment, do note the zoom direction on Fuji is opposite to that from Canon. Some people don't care and can adjust between them at will. To some like me, it is a deal breaker. If this may be a factor too, then options are limited towards Olympus.
