While Nikon tries to address people who want to have a cheap D4, video-free and retro-designed to use Stone Age Nikkors before 1977 I wouldn't give up any D800 for that thing, especially not at that price. I don't understand why they didn't include a microprism screen into the finder. Focusing with that "focus help" for manual lenses like contemporary Zeisses or modified Leica is not that much fun.
And if they wanted to have it retro, why not design a sensor back for old F4 or F5? That I'd call environmental friendly to reuse those old horses.
I think that 16 Mps on FF will be a recipe for super low noise, and all those knobs man! there everywhere, I'm a knob twiddler and here you've got a lifetime's twiddling in front of you. In fact it's so gorgeous, I'm going to put up my soul for sale on ebay.
oh well i'm the only one that thinks it looks as ugly as sin then....why not just redo one of their sweet old film bodies with a digital back....and halve the price....pardon that i'm always a wet blanket here

Indeed, not the only one.
