nuke 12, there's a difference between sharpening and already get the real detail It can look as sharp after post the D800 files only - but what are you doing, if you're buddy sharpens his D800E files as well? It's not about sharpness alone, it's the details which make look it "sharp" abd which are just more information.

 

 

The pictures from both cameras are being sharpned. The ones from the D800 will take more sharpening then the ones from the D800e but in the final, they end up being pretty close to equal. All so the raw images from the D800e, out of the camera, are only sharper up to about f/8. Higher apertures show no real differences between the two cameras.
