Next PZ lens test report: Tamron AF 24-70mm f/2.8 SP Di USD VC
#1
Results closely match Klaus' Canon review, so I reused most of the review text for this one. However, I went for 24-40-70mm (instead of 24-35-50-70mm) to maintain comparability with earlier Nikon FX reviews of 24-70mm lenses.

Hi,

It seems to perform well, but I'm surprised that Tamron have not restyled the barrel a bit better, there's too much resemblance to the well known 17-50 2.8/ 28-75 2.8 budget lenses and that makes it look on the cheap side. Tamron are lagging behind Sigma in this department!

But their 24-70 is much better optically than Sigma's. This tradeoff would be fine by me. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Certainly, the weather sealing is also I nice touch. Nice new Photozone format.

Price wise it is rather similar like Nikon 24-120 f4

Optically it seems better (a lot?).

Both have VR.

Which one to choose for usage on D600?

Thank you in advance!

Yours Bojan
