Finally some hot news in Nikon land:
Nikon patented a 35mm f/2.0 lens for a mirrorless sytem camera with curved Full Frame sensor!

I'd say that this is an impossible base for a mirrorless system. This may have advantages for wide angle lenses but I've a hard time to believe that this can work out across the lens range. That is, of course, assuming that this is a fixed shaped sensor. A flexible sensor would be something ;-)

Well I expect they are launching a camera with a single fixed lens, I don't expect such a sensor to work on a zoom lens or on different levels

I don't see how a sensor could change his basic form without expanding or compressing the single cells. Even in our eyeballs this form remains, but we're seeing with fixed FL.
Rumors have it Nikon wants to sell another D8xx, this time a D810s. Milking this base with now 5 different D8xx types could point towards something else not finished yet.
If that would become real, all F-lenses would become useless for it, no?

What I can see here is a camera like fuji X100F wit a non interchangeable fixed focal lens full frame 35mm f2.0 mainly for street photography
