Thx! After all those mountains here in Bavaria it is really time to do some beaching I think.
I reckon the landing will be pretty smooth. Basically my real world job (@ Fujitsu) will simply get shifted to Oz (Frenchs Forest / Sydney).
The toughest aspect seems to be the rental prices for apartments - 2000EUR (2400AU$) a month for an equivalent place is a little nuts although my effective salary will increase a little at least. And I thought that Munich is a hell of a place in this respect ...

.....hmmm, yes i hope it's not going to be a problem for you - too bad Fujitsu can't help with accommodation - real-estate is insane in Sydney, and is recognised everywhere to be so - decades ago i had a house in Forestville (next suburb to Frenchs Forest) and right on the edge of the bush, sold for $125K - should have kept it, it would now be worth a million - still, Frenchs Forest is open and nice, but has normal houses and not apartments and maybe not brilliant transport -
……it is quite different to Europe here, so this is quite a move, good to keep something in Germany i think - this is a delicate economy, we all hope that being close to asia will continue to be a good thing, but it remains to be seen - parts of Sydney are all asian/middle eastern now, i like the mix of cultures and we muddle through
…..and another thing, the oz$ is high right now, everyone's thinking it will come down, so not sure how good the euro/oz$ exchange will be immediately for you…..
…..lastly as an aside - the last German person i met down here not so long ago was an oral surgeon, a lovely man and very good at his art (of pulling teeth :-) ….. but $800 or so for a couple of minutes work! (they all charge the same, and he was very good) - worth doing all the uni he did for his qualifications with a pair of pliers i'd say……and his is a useful art and not otherwise……
so best wishes, now there is more of a chance i'll catch you on the back of that bus…….while i'm heading off for some of my favourite street/beach shots at Bondi or Manly.....
