APS-C cameras are anything but outdated. As they always did, they outsell any FF camera by a large margin.
FF, as popular as it might be among advanced amateurs, is still a niche market when looking at it from a more global perspective.
There is, however, a strong shift towards mirrorless cameras, not doubt. That's a much larger thread for APS-C DSLRs than the new (and still expensive) full-frame cameras.
