The laser matte or split screen looks interesting, but I wonder how useful it is in practice. The split circle is located at the center of the screen, but the subject that you want to focus at is usually off the center. Of course you can focus first then re-frame, but in many situations this will cause a change in the distance to the subject that makes noticible influence on the focusing result. Did I misunderstand something?
