UK shop ?
#1
Hello,

any idea whether "SRS Microsystems" is a reliable shop ?

They have a couple of amazing deals (from a EU mainland perspective).

I've never heard of them though (I shopped at Amazon Uk a couple of times but SRS seems quite a bit cheaper here and there).

?

Thx

No experience of them, but they have been around as long as I've been into photography and haven't heard anything bad about them.

I didn't compare all their prices but they didn't seem remarkable in a quick look.

Seems they also have an ebay shop: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/srsmicrosystem...65&afsrc=1

They are Pentax Pro dealers, one of three independant photographic retailers in the UK who buy from Pentax directly. They support pentaxuser.co.uk, and there on forums one can find many good comments about them. However, I do not have personal experience with them.

Yes, this is how I found them.

Reason - the Pana GX-1 with PZ 14-42mm is very cheap by local standards.

I bought there twice when I lived in London. No problems even with calling them regarding a repair. Something like Foto Köster in the UK.

other good shops are http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/ and http://www.warehouseexpress.com/Home/default.aspx

the only thing to add is: get a well insured parcel as I lost some expensive mail between UK and Germany.

Same here... despite insurance (parcelforce, refused to cover the loss).

Well, you have PayPal insurance via eBay, haven't you ?

It wasn't an ebay sale and I paid by wire transfer, so no luck here. The lens (a Nikon 24-70/2.8) was stolen from the parcel somewhere during transit.

I'm sure PayPal insurance wouldn't have helped here, either.
