The 55-200VR is a solid worker. You will love the VR when shooting without a tripod.
I have the 55-300VR as well because I wanted the extra tele range and it worth it when tying to catch birds.
Just don't expect the same performance you would get from a higher price lens.
After all, with the 55-200VR you can't go completely wrong.
(and 55mm is still short enough to take "normal" pictures, a lens starting at 70 often is to long and makes you change lenses back and forth)
If you can wait and don't mind a heavier device safe up for the Nikon 70-300VR.
