Next PZ lens test report: Tokina AF 35mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX
#1
A good and especially very sharp lens. Unfortunately requires a higher grade DX body to provide AF. Personally, I'd prefer the new Nikon AF-S DX 40/2.8 anyway.

Thanks for the review. The lens performs well. For me, the only problem is it's noisy while auto focus.
#3
It looks slightly better than the 40/2.8 but if I was in Nikon I'd still prefer the 40/2.8 just because of the added functionality the AF-S provides.

Markus, what is the working distance?

The Tokina one's working distance is rather short..

I know.. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> I just want to know how short.

I am very sorry to report that I haven't measured it ... and the lens is unfortunately already gone.

However, it's probably safe to assume that the working distance isn't dramatically different compared to the AF-S 40.

Very likely but I was curious anyway.

IMO it should be like Pentax da35mm Ltd - 14cm (and here 1:1)

That's the focus distance, from sensor to subject. The working distance is from subject to front of the lens.

Indeed <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . Just measured Pentax DA 35mm (not very scientific - with tape) - about 25mm from object to front edge of barrel.
