Next PZ lens test report: Nikkor AF 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D ED

I am using my 18-35mm on a D700.

I am not claiming this lens to be of pro quality on either image or build, but it is clearly of Nikkor quality, and used properly almost up there among the best.

I honestly believe you must have a bad sample, because the MTF results in your test are simply appaling, and the worst I have ever seen!

Here is a picture I took in Rome earlier this year:

They resize a little bit, but I think you still may be able to see that the lens isn't all that bad <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Did you correct for CA and such (vignetting, distortion), by any chance? And this image is stopped down to what, exactly?

If you want to prove it does a lot better, post an uncorrected image, and not closed down (as that will illustrate its better corner performance best).
