next PZ lens test report: Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 MFT

My impresion is that the resolution data has very different characteristics ...

At F0.95 the results are quite comparable and actually pretty good for F0.95 .... but stopped down there is a big difference between the reviews of photozone and optyczne/lenstip. I was just wondering why ... is it a matter of the cameras used, Pana GF-1 vs. Oly E-PL1 or the software used, Photoshop ACR vs. DCRaw ?

Of course it's not a race for the highest figures ... and it's about taking photos anyway, not just figures ...

I use the lens for available light photography and my impression is that the Nokton is really something special in the mFT-world or even in general.

Usable F0.95 for 849 Euros is remarkable.

The margin of error decreases the more you stop down so I doubt that the results are substantially wrong. However, as you mentioned, it is a question of testing parameters. The results are certainly not directly comparable.

I was actually very pleased with the results and also highly tempted to get one for private use. The sample image with the clock looks great for instance despite a little haze (which is normal).

Oh, and it would be nice if you could give us a feedback on the new chart design.
I must admit I don't like it. I'd rather have a fixed table. Can you do both?

You're referring to the "missing" numerical data in a table ?

I reckon we could do both but the value of the numerical data is really limited.

It is, of course, a distraction that the chart doesn't match with the chart used in the existing tests.

BTW, the test has been mainly performed by Sebastian who will now be responsible for both MFT and NEX tests.

I'm hoping that we can pick up some speed here again.
Welcome aboard Sebastian. May I suggest the 14-140 as your next test?

Yes, I was relating to this. For me it is much more convenient to read. And yes, a quick comparison with other lenses is well, less quick.....

Actually this is the idea behind all this. We'd like to put all the numerical data into a DB and then generate the charts on this basis. Consequently it would then also be possible to compare the data of two different data in some sort of other chart or tool.

I'd look forward to see such a DB. But currently, a chart is very convenient. Well, to me at least.

There has been some doubt recently whether product and company are still alive.

Not sure if it is more funny or ridiculous:

Calling a company SLR magic, when that company is not making any products for SLRs. Doesn't inspire much confidence in the management of that company...
