I guess that's never the case if products are being developed in secrecy. It's probably inevitable for all end-customer products beyond a certain price point. Vice versa you could certainly perform user testing of chocolate. ;-)

Nikon had to put something out there to mark the anniversary. How well it's been done is another story. I am sure there will be a limited edition anniversary cameras as we progress into 2017.
