More EOS R5 video details
#1
It will offer 8K video in Ultra (UHD-2) (7680 x 4320) and DCI (8192 x 4320) resolutions (and UHD and DCI for 4K too). That means that the camera will have at least a 44.7 MP sensor.
Recording format options (for 8K) are internal RAW, ALL-I and IPB, and external IPB. 4K upto 120fps.

And "outside of external factors, there will be no overheating issues when recording 8K for more than 15 minutes".
To compare it to the Sony A9 II:

A9 II does 10 FPS vs 12 FPS of the R5 (both 20 FPS in silent shutter mode)
A9 II has 24mp vs 44.7mp for the R5
A9 II no 8K vs R5 8K RAW/DCI
A9 II 4K upto 30 FPS vs R5 4k upto 120 FPS.

This all illustrates how in one big jump, Canon upped the computing power from lagging the competition the last few years to leap frogging them.
