Speaking of flare do you remember tokinas ?
16-28 will give you all types of flare while keeping a good contrast if you like such effects you will absolutely enjoy it. Markus already talked about this in his review.

my old Tokina 24-200 is an absolute disaster here with crazy flare and loss of any contrast knowing that in best shooting conditions it's already poor
