new Kickstarter campaign - Meyer Optik Trioplan 50mm f/2.9
#1
Seems as if historic lenses are the new in thing these days ...

Isn't it quite expensive for what both lenses offer?

#3
If I'm understanding correctly, their target is already met!

$200,857 already pledged on the $50,000 needed........In that case they are there are they not?....

They quote at the end of the blurb.

"Risks

Any new venture or innovation includes an element of risk. The Trioplan 50 is no different.

Meyer Optik has a strong and experienced team of manufacturing, photography and business professionals and have carefully evaluated and mitigated all foreseeable risks and challenges, but may face unforeseen challenges".

Actually they explicitly mention the "bubble" bokeh so it's an intentional effect.

Whether you like it or not is a different question, of course.  Wink

#6
And whether one uses it for good results of for bad is one'w own choice too.

I think this is a bad example: the flower can hardly be discerned because the boken is so distracting - and of similar hue to the subject.

I wasn't sure I found the price among all that marketing fluff on their page...
