I had been reading about the MFT lens, Boy, that's a tough range to compete in, with both Panasonic and Olympus already making good models. Be interesting to see that one tested.

For me the 16-300 would sound like the ideal lens for hiking with an APS-C camera... I am thinking it could on occasions replace my current setup with a tamron 17-50 and 55-250. Not expecting wonders but if it shows decent quality compared to these two I am sold. Same filter size so no need to change filters... same size as the new Canon 10-18 too...

Any indication of possible prices anywhere?

Of course I would be very interested to see this one reviewed here.

The 16-300mm APS-C lens is out for a little while already.

$629 in the USA (without tax of course), €599 in my country (the Netherlands).

Interesting, thanks, haven't seen these before. Tests look OK, not spectacular but not bad for this class of lens. Price is a bit steep but maybe that's just the new lens tag, it could tail off after being on the market for a while.

I am considering the 16-300 PZD for my Sony a57 when my existing Tamron 18-270 finally stops working (but not before).  As always, the Sony version will not feature the in-lens stabilistation but I'm sure I can handle that.  Just a shame it doesn't effect the price...

Looking at reviews of the older 28-300mm Tamron hyperzooms, they've never been rated all too highly so perhaps their new 28-300 will be more accepted by full frame users?

I've always been impressed by the optical performace of Tamron lenses so far.

I have buyed Tamron's 16-300 and 28-300 for full format and I am very satisfied: why there is not test of those interesting

lenses on Photozone? Thanks!

It is just a matter of priorities.

Well I've found this 16-300mm PZD lens in stock for Sony users at B&H over in the US but has it hit the UK yet?

Seems the price ranges very little from £530 to £519 over here.

After an encounter with some concrete this morning, my 18-270 has finally given up on me.  Its really been a workhorse of a lens and I'm seeking an immediate replacement.  I can only hope my local Tamron retailer can source me a 16-300 very soon!  Looks like most places are pre-order only and Amazon UK doesn't even list it on their website!
