next PZ lens test report: Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM - Klaus - 06-06-2014 Well, the mirrorless gang has to design telecentric lensed - otherwise things get messy. And that comes at a cost. The Canon lens is pretty much unique anyway. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM - toni-a - 06-06-2014 I read your comments and can't wait to put my hands on my sample I should hopefully have it by tomorrow..... next PZ lens test report: Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM - Brightcolours - 06-06-2014 Quote:Well, the mirrorless gang has to design telecentric lensed - otherwise things get messy. And that comes at a cost.Is that reversed telecentric? On a DSLR you have to do that too, don't you, with short focal lengths (due to bigger flange distance)? The Canon has 14 elements, the Sony 10: By the way, the Canon EF-M 11-22mm IS STM is a pretty good wide angle zoom too, and pretty cheap too. next PZ lens test report: Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM - Klaus - 06-07-2014 Well, due to the longer distance from mount to sensor, the issue is eased on DSLRs to start with. Now if you ask me which ultra-wide lens has a telecentric design I couldn't tell honestly. :-) |
