A sturdy lightweight lens for hiking - toni-a - 05-01-2014

Hi all,

I am having regular hiking trip and I need a light tough lens.

Actually I am using the excellent Canon EFs-17-55 f2.8 IS, awesome in every aspect except size and weight. will be shooting landscape in bright sunlight ( If I have other needs I would bring the other lenses)  I was considering the Canon EFs-18-55 f3.5-5.6 IS unless you have more interesting ideas

If you want to consider a Canon 18-55mm IS, look at the STM version, Better optics than the IS version, better AF, better built.

For the rest, there are no other lenses that are that light.
