Pentax K roadmap 2014 - Guest - 03-12-2014 What's this, an Anti-Pentax Club meeting? Pentax is doing quite well, considering they went through a hostile takeover and downsizing/cost-cutting until Ricoh finally bought them. Now they're on the right track. + the lack of lenses longer than 300mm, and cheaper than the 560mm: - the 1.4 RC was recently launched on the market (delivery still pending in some areas); you can put it on a 60-250 or 300 f/4. - there's a longer zoom on the roadmap + compact limiteds were made to be as compact as possible, thus no in-lens motors. It's a design trade-off. + the K-3 brings new things regarding the AF, e.g. subject tracking coupled to the 86000 segment RGB metering system. It's an ambitious step forward. + the 560mm appears to be a very nice lens, although pricey. It is indeed a long lens instead of a telephoto design; and those claiming that "it must have been designed by a newbie" are kindly invited to do at least as well (I assume they are newbies, so it's doable - right?). + Tamron is only making lenses for Canon and Nikon, and for their shareholder - Sony. Maybe Ricoh should buy some shares? Pentax K roadmap 2014 - Brightcolours - 03-12-2014 Quote:What's this, an Anti-Pentax Club meeting?Where does it appear to be that? The only review I have seen from it shows it to be really rather bad for what it is... Quote:+ Tamron is only making lenses for Canon and Nikon, and for their shareholder - Sony. I think this lens will start making a lot of sense if the price will drop a bit. Unremarkable for a lens in that price range. That the Tamron (150-600mm) does not come with a Pentax mount should not be a problem, the money saved will allow you to get any Canon or Nikon DSLR body with it that you might choose, and still have lots of dough left. B) Pentax K roadmap 2014 - arvydas - 04-03-2014 Quote:I have not found too many samples on the internet....Just for interest - these look quite good. A. Pentax K roadmap 2014 - Guest - 04-04-2014 Brightcolors, I don't trust Pentaxforums' reviews; they need to build up more experience (I know, it's not an easy task). What I saw are samples like the ones indicated by arv - actually just minutes ago I was looking at new pictures from "PvC001" and IMO some of them are quite good. The lens is still too expensive for me, the 60-250 will make do - once I'll add the 1.4xRC. Keep in mind that anyone can "test" a lens and put the results on the Internet |
