That's actually really quite nice, optically.  Rather decent across the frame, well centered.  Shame canon can put a kit lens together better than sony or fuji can put a lens costing twice as much together...

If there's one thing canon knows inside and out, it's telephoto.

Actually it would be an interesting exercise to test the Canon 24-70/4 on this adapter.

Again that contrasty feel to the images (like with the 18-55mm STM), which ARW converter do you use again? Looks nice what you are getting from the new 55-250mm.

The images were converted using CaptureOne 7.

Yes, it is fairly amazing what Canon can deliver at this price point.

A test with the Metabones adapter would be very interesting indeed. For instance, for what concerns autofocus, Metabones says:

Quote:Autofocus speed is very slow and inadequate for most moving subjects. The autofocus speed is unfit for professional use for sure, and it would disappoint most enthusiasts. ... Continuous AF is not supported.

But are these limitations occurring because of the adapter or because of the inferior AF in Sony bodies? I mean: if a new Sony camera body with better AF is released, would the situation improve, at the point of being useful with fast moving objects?

The adapter is translating between two very different systems that were never intended to be connected together. That it works at all is impressive.

Looks like an excellent lens. The non-STM was pretty decent already.

Hello, just wondering, is a formal review planned for the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM?  It would be interesting to see the MTF data especially.  Thanks!
