Quote:[...] However, SLR [...] users have been seeking for better IQ even if only slightly. For this reason they would like to move forward to the largest sensor size which their lens-mount system accepts. [...] Our long term strategy is towards FF while short term strategy is increasing line-up in APS-C segment. [..] Back to FF [...] We are developing towards commercial production and will definitely launch though, [...] As to time frame, it is under advanced development towards 2013 or later. You can expect that. [...] -> Pentax just has officially announced that a PKAF-FF-DSLR is in the works and will be brought to series-production readiness. Finally ![]() Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - netrex - 10-10-2012 This is good. Mostly cause it will stop the incredibly annoying nagging that's been going on. Also, I'll get a wider field of view for my tilt/shift lens, and now also Samyang 14mm <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ![]() Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - Guest - 10-10-2012 In some aspect this make sense; now that the price of FF has come down; though most of their newer lenses are not FF; it seems (from testing) that a lot of their older lenses (esp the limited) will do well on FF so maybe it won't be so bad. Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - netrex - 10-10-2012 For the beginning, the lenses I use the most, are all FF. Except of course, the DA* 16-50mm and 50-135mm. Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - dave9t5 - 10-10-2012 Coming 2013-or-beyond...yawn. It would be better for the entire Pentax ecosystem if they came out with these things: - A flash system that can make a proper and consistent TTL exposure, instead of over-exposing, and proper build quality, instead of breaking feet and battery doors and no weather-resistance. - A decent DA prime between 21 and 35mm, such as a 24mm or 28mm, instead adding more and more pointless 35 and 40mm lenses. Göran Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - davidmanze - 10-11-2012 Hi, After all the years of Pentax fans practically grovelling on their knees for a FF body, this is indeed, good news! However, their lens range is somewhat depleted for FF and preparations will have to be made to provide several new appropriate lenses in time for it's arrival. There are FF lenses in their current line up,but these have never been put to the test on a Pentax FF DSLR body before and it will be interesting to see how these lenses shape up,the forums will be full of Pentaxians giving their views on their old preciously guarded lens collections which will soon return to full fruition on FF.My guess is that it will arrive in early 2014. PS. The PZ review of the Pentax 18-135mm is still resounding around Pentaxian corridors, causing on going debate,is there a chance of seeing a review of a more representitive example of this lens? as proposed. [/quote] It will not happen. Pentax FF DSLR - confirmed - Rover - 10-24-2012 SLRGear has just reviewed the 18-135, their sample wasn't much better anyways. So it's likely the way that lens is. Say... am I the only one who thinks that their 18-135 is basically the same as the Tokina 16.5-135mm, which had showed similarly poor image quality in PZ testing?
