On facebook, they say it's 110 degrees wide. That would be 15mm for a FF lens.

The rumour mill suggest that it will be a 15mm F/2.8 Distagon with a 95mm filter thread <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />...

I guess it will break some price tag records <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />...

Here are some views of the entire lens, made in Japan by Cosina:

95mm filter thread was confirmed today on Facebook.

That's a big thing lacking on the Samyang 14/2.8.

Then, definitely would rather buy the Nikon 14-24mm.

The Zeiss lens appears to accept filters, the front element seems to be less prone to flare and it is obviously faster. So quite some value propositions.

However, I suspect that we are talking about a lens in excess of 3000$ here.

Sorry Klaus, I don't understand what your "faster" means. Both lenses are F2.8.

While for filter, there exist some filter adapters specially designed for the Nikon 14-24mm. But of course you need to buy the extra adapters.

Consider the price of the Zeiss 21mm F2.8, I guess the Zeiss 15mm F2.8 will be much much more expensive than the Nikon 14-24mm F2.8.

You are right, of course, that a Nikon 12-24mm f2.8 has some advantages. It AF's, it offers zoom flexibility, and most probably is cheaper.

The Zeiss has advantages too. It will be less prone to impact damage, with its hood protecting the lens. It will be usable with ND filters. It will have less problems with light sources wreaking havoc.

So, while for you the choice will be the zoom, there will be some who rather would choose the Zeiss. If of course it is a good lens <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

This filter adaptor may provide some protection to the front element of the 14-24mm f2.8: http://www.fotodiox.com/product_info.php?products_id=1492

Oh, sorry, I had in mind that the Nikkor has f/4. My error.
