Canon G1X with four-thirds sensor ... ;-) - Klaus - 01-09-2012 The question is now why we should favour this over a Panasonic GX-1 with 14-42mm PZ ? Interesting camera. The only thing I don't get is why they sticked to that awful OVF. -- Markus Canon G1X with four-thirds sensor ... ;-) - PuxaVida - 01-09-2012
The only thing I don't get is why they sticked to that awful OVF. -- Markus
To make a difference compared to m4/3 EVFs <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />... If the lens is top notch it might be an interesting option; though it is slow at the relatively short long end. They probably compared it to the G12 with regards to marketing as oppose to the rest of the market. I mean why buy a G12 in the first place (even though it seems to sell well) ? While the GX1 is expensive the older olympus pens (like ep-1) are going for a dime (well $400 with kit lens).
Faster at "28mm".
Sorry but the larger sensor argument is a joke regarding the really minor difference. Longer lens range ... just a few mm. Optical viewfinder ... oh yeah. As far the articulated screen - just replace the GX-1 with the E-PL3 instead. Does not make sense to me at least. |
