The French magazine Le Monde de La Photo has done a test on two of the new Nikkor 1 lenses. Interesting reading!

I can't read french, but it seems odd that the resolution charactorisitc is flat to about f/11, this would be equivelant to about f/32 on 35mm. I would have expected to see a drop from f/5.6 onwards due to diffraction. If it was a good lens, I would have expected f/4 to even be diffraction limited.

Perhaps it´s just a poorly executed test. I´ve seen elsewhere results suggesting that the 10-30mm is pretty bad, while the 30-110mm was found to be rather nice.

They evaluate sharpness for A3 print size (254 DPI); according to Imatest, it is enough about 1755 LW/PH (MTF50) to get excellent print of that size (kit lens borders quality <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />).
