If it's capable of taking 1080p video, 2mp "multi image" would be recorded in less than a second (I'm pretty sure 20-30 frames is more than enough to cover whole focus range, except macros of course).
20-30 frames is a really long exposure time... Better not have any moving subjects in the image <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. Biggest problem with the lightfield camera is the small image area, meaning a big impact on sharpness due to diffraction or always a very shallow DOF. It is a gimmick product, with very interesting math behind it.
Agreed, and will further point out that I read somewhere that the lightfield camera does not work well with stop-action photos of moving subjects for some reason. Implying that taking 6 frames in a tenth of a second in some kind of high speed movie mode, say at 1920x1080 resolution, not impossible, might with a bunch of post processing, get you a serviceable version of what the lightfield camera is doing with fairly static subjects. |
