Samyang is on a roll it seems, with very impressive affordable optics!

If it feels anything like the 85mm f/1.4 it's something I wouldn't mind having in my arsenal, specially for film making. Together with the 14mm which I don't have yet either (I do have, and love, the 85mm).

Hi Markus,

thanks for the sneak preview.

Please don't take it personally, but it would've actually been really helpful to have at least one architecture pic, or something to show how the lens handles vertical lines. A few more close-ups and/or demonstrating its blur at 1.4 would've been great too.

Any chance of taking some more, maybe?

regards,

Pinhole.

There'll be an EOS review with more samples anyway.

I'll see what I can do, Pinhole. I can't promise anything, though. The weather is quite dismal currently and I was lucky to take advantage of a few short periods of sunshine today.

However, the full review will of course contain the usual distortion and bokeh sections.

Yep, that sounds like another nice option ... unload all your sample image wishes at Klaus' door, please <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Just finished the MTF measurement with the D3x. Looks very good.

Distortion is on par with the competition.

Hi Markus,

how did you find fokssing in the field at f1.4? Were you able to nail fokus through the viewfinder (without liveview)?

Regarding the samples: I guess that an 35mm f/1.4 lens would be use mostly used for available light. Thus I dont find all this f/4- f/8 photos very illustrative. If I wanted to shoot at narrow apterures I wouldnt buy such a fast and comparable big and heav Lens. Would you (or Klaus) mind adding more low light samples at f/1.4?

Thanks!!
