Sigma 17-50 2.8 EX DC OS HSM or sigma 17-70 2.8/4 DC macro OS HSM - Klaus - 04-08-2011
No, you won't. Then just do what one anyway should do.. let Canon calibrate it under warranty. Or exchange it in the shop.
Well, you'll always regret having purchased a less-than-optimal lens, won't you. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The quality of the Canon service varies substantially so I wouldn't bet on that. Sigma 17-50 2.8 EX DC OS HSM or sigma 17-70 2.8/4 DC macro OS HSM - DaveE - 04-22-2011 Things have moved on. I went to the lake district last week and the 500D and 10-24 tamron lens, tripod and filters etc fell into a 3m deep river & is now scrap. Thankfully its insured but it is very annoying. So I'm starting again - looking at the 7D body [i mainly do sports & think this would be better than a 5D mk2 or 60D] but now I have the choice of a new lens or 2 So, what to do about the lens? option 1 - sigma 17-50 £576 option 2 - sigma 17-70 £343 with the option of adding a sigma 10-20 £499 at a later date [£842] I really dont know what to do..any suggestions? I have looked at the canon 15-85 but it seems very expensive I am edging towards option 2 of giving me the best of both worlds - two reasonable lenses instead of one very food one.....
The 7D is sold as a kit with the 15-85 lens, this should grant you some saving and solve your grudge <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Anyway, it's not more expensive than the Sigma 17-50. If you can afford it, you can afford the 15-85 too. |
