Hmm, I have the Nikkor 80-200/2.8 Dn, an old AF 180/2.8 and a D700.
The 80-200/2.8 is a bit longer (~190mm), but the 180/2.8 is the better lens (sharper, better contrast, better bokeh).
If I want to go really light, I take the tiny manual Nikkor 200/4 AiS (510g), that's optically slightly less sharp than the 180/2.8, but "wide open" still sharper than the 80-200/2.8 at 200mm/4.
Quite a feat for a €80,- lens from Ebay, but the 200/4 is known to be that good.
