As long as we are talking sigma what ever became of the 85f1.4. Did it actually get released and was it anything special ?

IMHO wide open sharpness is just that: Good. Not more.

FLD was used in the 70-200 OS but it still perform worse than the Canon 70-200 IS II.

But [url="http://www.lenstip.com/263.1-Lens_review-Sigma_70-200_mm_f_2.8_EX_DG_APO_OS_HSM-Introduction.html"]it performs verry well[/url] and not so much behind a [url="http://www.lenstip.com/index.php?test=obiektywu&test_ob=270"]new Canon[/url] in terms of IQ and surely beter than old [url="http://www.lenstip.com/index.html?producent=26&obiektyw=470&typ=0&moc=0"]Canon 70-200 2,8[/url].

And with tha 'good' shapness it's still eneough to be on par with 2,5x times more expensive Canon 85 L
