Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - PuxaVida - 02-08-2011
Since the mother of all macros (MP-E 65 2.8 1-5x) is not on Nikon...
Why?... The focus cannot be set to infinity in MP-E 65... The flange focal distance wouldn't be a problem at all <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />... Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - genotypewriter - 02-08-2011
I simply do not know how to do this. Could you pls explain how it is done? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Kindly VL
If you go to the novoflex website you'll see the auto-bellows. I think I have seen cheaper 3rd party ones on eBay too. GTW Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - genotypewriter - 02-08-2011
Why?...
Good technical point but unless you're willing to cannibalise something, doubt there's an adapter for it. Plus there won't be any aperture control. GTW Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - netrex - 02-08-2011 I'd go for the 180mm. I really want the Tamron, but it's not for Pentax. So I'm thinking about the Sigma. But a 105 with 2x converter isn't bad either. And I already have that. The focal length is just for distance really. Since you have a 50 already I mean. I have a 105mm, and want more distance. I thing I would want the Pentax 35mm 2.8 Macro as well to have 35mm and 180mm, then maybe sell the 105, or just 35mm and 105mm-2x converter. Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - Steinar1 - 02-09-2011 Thanks for all your input and thoughts. Some of them I uderstand, some not <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> , but I have ordered a Nikon 105VR. If I need longer focal length, I can use the Tamron 70-300 with a close up lens (I guess??) Anyways, this will do me fine for the moment. Now, what do you recommend in terms of a macro flash kit that will work on the 50mm and the 105mm? Kindly VL
I have Nikon 105mm VR and it's one of my favourite lenses - half of the time as a long portrait lens actually, it's very sharp wide open and has really smooth bokeh <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The only thing I find a bit annoying about this lens is focus breathing. Fine with smaller magnification, but if you ever go over 1:1 (either by extension tubes or reversed WA) and do focus stacking of say, 10 images, you'll see what I mean <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> P.s. lol, judging by your underline signature you're very impatient person <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Second macro lens after 50mm f2.8 - Steinar1 - 02-09-2011
