Is it worth it to switch from 40D to 5D mark I? - Guest - 11-25-2010 5D Mk.I is something special - and You can see it in the photos. I owned my share of cameras, and haven't found this "magic ingredient" elswhere. I even recently tried getting a more "modern" camera (50D) but sold it after 2 weeks... There is one more great thing about old 5D - with it's huge pixels, even so-so lenses perform beautifully - at least in the center <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Michal Is it worth it to switch from 40D to 5D mark I? - genotypewriter - 11-28-2010
There is one more great thing about old 5D - with it's huge pixels, even so-so lenses perform beautifully - at least in the center <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
On the flipside you get less detail. But if you can live with that amount of detail, I can't see why resizing a 5D2 image down to ~12MP will be worse. So that way, at times when you have better lenses, you can use the full 21MPs <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> GTW |
