Revew Canon 75-300 4/5,6 IS USM - konzah - 11-11-2010 Hello, I couldn't find the Canon 75-300 f4-5.6 IS USM III review here. I am trying to compare its sharpness with some other lenses from this class. Revew Canon 75-300 4/5,6 IS USM - Klaus - 11-11-2010 There's no such thing as a IS USM III. Canon has 3x 70-300 IS lenses. These two: http://www.opticallimits.com/canon-eos/201-canon-ef-70-300mm-f45-56-usm-is-lab-test-report--review http://www.opticallimits.com/canon-eos/200-canon-ef-70-300mm-f4-56-usm-is-test-report--review Plus the new L IS. Revew Canon 75-300 4/5,6 IS USM - mst - 11-11-2010 They had a 75-300 USM III in the past as well as the 75-300 IS USM. Both have long been discontinued, though, and I'm afraid that they won't be reviewed here, ever. Regarding performance: don't expect too much from anything older than the 70-300 IS USM, especially on a modern DSLR. -- Markus Revew Canon 75-300 4/5,6 IS USM - Klaus - 11-11-2010
They had a 75-300 USM III in the past as well as the 75-300 IS USM. It is still listed over at Canon.de and widely available.
I didn't say so <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The 75-300 IS USM was discontinued when the 70-300 IS USM was announced. However, I just realized that the 75-300 USM III (non-IS) still seems to be a current lens. -- Markus Revew Canon 75-300 4/5,6 IS USM - sth - 11-11-2010
However, I just realized that the 75-300 USM III (non-IS) still seems to be a current lens.
I don't know why, but a lot of shops outside Europe seem to bundle this lens instead of the (equally priced) 55-250 IS with new cameras. But who understands Canon? They don't even offer the 7D + 15-85mm kit in the US (although they do offer it with the 28-135). IMHO Canon could cut a whole bunch of old, long superseeded lenses out of their lineup. |
