Yellow ought to be the colour of all cameras except those that are made in France, that should be red, white and blue

I thought French cameras might be a mixture of only red and white... you know... pink? <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Maybe I just did not get it, but honestly I do not see any insult here. However, I'd prefer if you two could maybe try to settle this out in a personal conversation? I assume it's just a misunderstanding.

I think it's a language barrier... I should polish up my skills in interpreting dead languages.

I don't know which dead language you are referring to, but leave good enough alone. I'm out of this one.
