Concert photographs - Guest - 09-26-2010 Since I just noticed that we have over here an action photography bit I thought I might post a little something here <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> These are all pictures of concerts I have taken in the last few weeks. All taken with a D700 + 35/2AF-D (I also use the 50/1.4 AFS, 85/1.8 AF-D and an old Sigma 70-200/2.8 HSM0 Phi Life Cypher: KRS-One: Steelwing: Blind Guardian: Blind Guardian (2): Valkyrja Marduk: Electric Eel Shock: Onslaugt: Korpiklaani: Concert photographs - langone_peter - 08-05-2011 Of all the types of photography ever invented, I would claim that live concert photography is up there among the most difficult ones. You have five thousand fans behind you, and there is a band in front of you. Nobody stands still. In fact, even the notion of standing still ruins the idea of a good music photo. The bouncers hate you, because you are in their way. The crowd is jealous of you. Crowdsurfers will kick you in the head. The band thinks you’re annoying. The lighting is never bright enough, and changes so frequently that you’re screwed even in the few moments that it is. And nonetheless, concert photography is one of my all-time favourite pasttimes. It’s hard. It’s unrewarding. But it’s deeply gratifying on a personal lever. It’s about capturing the mood. Capturing the looks. Capturing something the audience is feeling. Regards.
