So Canon's video saga continues - Klaus - 07-29-2020 If there's any doubt about the 12mp sensor in the a7S III ... RE: So Canon's video saga continues - Brightcolours - 07-30-2020 Tony doesn't know that 60 fps video is also for slow motion. Gordon Laing's review of the A7SIII with R5 comparisons - davidmanze - 07-30-2020 Cameralabs Gordon Laing's review of the Sony A7SIII plus comparison to the Canon R5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSl5c6A2e6g&t=611s Plus Froknows photos review of the AS7III vs the Canon R5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aC39Z6vZgHw RE: So Canon's video saga continues - Brightcolours - 07-30-2020 A more usage oriented comparison with someone with a bit of knowledge in the field, with a test in hot and humid weather: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgcp8wXAUZY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-SAUNuBCNM For the video noobs out there, I will point it out again: Normal video frame rates are 24(25) (more filmic) or 30 FPS. 60 FPS like in these 4K60 overheating tests are used for slowmotion, if that adds to the mood of a scene (obviously without recorded sound). It will give about 2.5x slow motion in movies. 120 FPS like in 4K120 gives about 5x slowmotion in movies, used when for instance dramatic fire or particle movements are captured. 30 minutes of 4K60 would make for a feature film length slow motion clip. That should place these 4K60 comparisons in perspective. All the talk about 4K60 and "shooting weddings" is just nonsensical, really. RE: So Canon's video saga continues - wim - 07-30-2020 Dan Watson on overheating R5 vs A7SIII: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-SAUNuBCNM Quite the surprise considering comments on the internet everywhere. ![]() Kind regards, Wim RE: So Canon's video saga continues - Klaus - 07-30-2020 It's really fun reading through those comments. Two weeks ago: 8K video, awesome video specs, game-changer, Canon kills the other video-centric cameras. One week ago: Ok, it can overheat at times. No big deal. Today: "I'm shooting stills anyway" LOL ... ;-) RE: So Canon's video saga continues - davidmanze - 07-30-2020 (07-30-2020, 09:20 AM)Klaus Wrote: It's really fun reading through those comments.
