new Tamrons officially released - Klaus - 10-01-2021 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Sony E) https://www.tamron.jp/en/product/lenses/a063.html 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD (Sony E) https://www.tamron.jp/en/product/lenses/a058.html 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Sony E, Fuji X) https://www.tamron.jp/en/product/lenses/b061.html The MTFs all look decent ... on paper ... even for the 18-300mm RE: new Tamrons officially released - stoppingdown - 10-01-2021 If the third is good, it would solve the "short business trip with low cost air company" problem. Exactly two years ago, for a business trip to Sardinia, the only things that I could carry for space/weight limitations (given that I had to give priority to business equipment) were a6300 + SEL1670. I made a very good gallery, but I missed a number of tele shots. I also see that it's relatively light (620g) and offers 1:2 repro ractio. Interesting. RE: new Tamrons officially released - thxbb12 - 10-01-2021 I'm usually not interested in super zooms, but given the progress in lens design, it seems that the 18-300 could be good enough for my travel needs. I currently use the Fuji 16-80. I like its rendering, colors and bokeh, but sharpness at the edge is not that great. I suspect this Tamron could be similar or better in their overlapping range while being much more versatile. RE: new Tamrons officially released - toni-a - 10-01-2021 35-150 for 1800$.... I am afraid 18-300 would be a good performer once new no doubt, the question with such a range and complex optics, how long would it be able to hold this quality ?? That's the primary issue in Fuji mount. The 16-55 and 18-55 are decent but the 16-80 and 18-135mm are ... meh. I used to have the 18-55. It was sharp indeed. However, its bokeh was horrid. The worse bokeh of any lens I've had. Consequently it was a great landscape lens, but for portraits it was very bad. The 16-80 isn't as sharp in the corners, but its rendering and bokeh are much much better. Overall, I like the 16-80 better. |
