Yeah... I thought the lens was forgotten.

But it looks like the adapted Canon 100-400 II is a better idea... right?

Well, I have some doubts about AF performance/accuracy with such an adapter solution.

For that price I expected better borders at the long end.

Not sure how much this is going to matter in real life though.
I wonder how good is the Nikon 80-400 (the AF-S version) though? It's another adaptable option for many mounts.

I, for one, would go for the 200-600mm G

With the SEL100400GM you save about 800g; this is an objective advantage (apart from the 100-200mm range). But extended it gets long and I'm pretty happy with the SEL200600G that doesn't extend. It makes truly a difference, as I learned with my previous Sigma 150-600mm.

 Decent in it's day but it's showing it's age at the long end .....
